What do you call a person who makes decisions based on race, religion or ethnic origin? - A Democrat
Table B-1 shows just non-farm employment, where BLS states the 163,000 gain. To be consistent, that means we lost 358,000 farm related jobs in July?!?! This is out out a total farm employment of 10,250,000 or 3.5%. It is hard to fathom that 3.5% of total farm jobs were lost in July.
When you dig into the details of the report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics the numbers reported don't make sense. Table A-9 of the report lists employment by age and other criteria. The table shows the total number employed, seasonally adjusted as 142,415,000 in June and 142,220,000 in July. That is a decrease from June to July of 195,000 (seasonally adjusted). If you look at the non-seasonally adjusted numbers, the decrease was only 76,000. How they came up with 163,000 gain from June to July is beyond my comprehension.
