Mankind has invariably looked upward throughout history in the belief that God lives "up there". However, "up" is a very different place depending on where on earth you happen to be. Point is... common belief is that God lives somewhere other than earth.
A "year" is a man-made concept describing the time it takes our insignificant little speck of rock to make a single revolution around our insignificant little star (the sun). It is an arbitrary measure of time in the grand scheme of things, and it is presumptuous of us to assume that one who has a hand in the grand scheme would measure time in the same way that we do.

Their game is either to force Rubio to affirm a personal belief the earth is 4.5 billion years old—disturbing some of his religious supporters--or to mock and stigmatize him and others who could harbor any delusional...
Let's suppose that you were a being that measured 'years' in the time it takes your GALAXY to make a single revolution (a 'galactic year'). In the case of the Milky Way, it takes about 250 million years to make one revolution. If God bides His time in galactic years, and He measures our earth at 5,000 years old, then the earth (and the universe), are MUCH older than science has ever dared presume!
Same thing holds with the difference between Gods 6 days and our 15b years. BOTH TIMES ARE CORRECT. No need to play word games.
