Laura Ingraham's adoption is not hypocrisy; rather it is a great example of what conservativism is all about: an individual stepping forward to care for a vulnerable child, instead of leaving a faceless behemoth of a government to do it. Liberal policies have created a permanent underclass of women and children without men in their lives, who rely on government to be the provider in the family, and it provides poorly. Studies have shown kids who grow up without fathers underperform at school and have a much higher incarceration rate. It's not good for the kids, nor good for the society. But for all its drawbacks, having one parent is better for kids than life in an institution, and Laura is to be commended for taking on a tough job.
