Paul Ryan will still be a leader in Congress. I am not sure what Mitt Romney's future holds, but he has too much energy to retire and fade away. I see a strong humanitarian future in store for him. (Unless, of course, this mess blows up so big that the Electoral College decides it is necessary to vote them into office on December 17 when they convene.)

The term "Faithless Electors" describes those electors who have voted against the wishes of their states. Some states have laws on the books prohibiting this, others do not. Even those states who prohibit it have various untested consequences. I do realize that the chances of this happening are almost nil, but in 1836 Virginia's 23 electors conspired to vote against the VP nominee which threw the election of the VP to the senate where he was elected anyway. For the electors to vote against their state's election would require extraordinary circumstances which I do not think we are even close to. But, technically, it is possible.

And MerelyaMom, if only we had Mitt in there now. THEN we could actually hope to rescue and save America and we would be saved from going over that FISCAL CLIFF.

But alas, that was not to be. In fact, the absolute destruction of America is what is to be. I still believe in God......

The Electoral College is a mere formality and has no decision-making function.

Since the 9/11 attack on the U.S consulate in Benghazi, we've been told an anti-Islam YouTube video was to blame. We know the consulate was attacked multiple times throughout 2012 and U.S Ambassador Chris Stevens had received multiple threats from al Qaeda before being killed on 9/11 with three other Americans. From the beginning the story never added up and the YouTube video excuse has been proven a complete lie, but the recent revelations of an affair between General David Petraeus and biographer Paula Broadwell may have given us the missing link to this whole thing. It isn't the affair...
