The win needs to be decisive so the country can reunite. A mediocre victory will just encourage the other side to remain delusional about the promise of their far left ideas.
I'll settle for an Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
So, killing Osama was "not optimal" because there isn't a legal architecture in place? The murder of four Americans is "not optimal" because "the government is a big operation."
About 4 minutes before the more notorious use of the phrase "not optimal" was uttered by President Obama, he said: "One of the things we've got to do is put a legal architecture in place and we need congressional help to do that to make sure that . . not only am I reigned in, but any president is reigned in in terms of some of the decisions that we are making. Now, there are some tough trade offs. I mean there are times where there are bad folks somewhere on the other side of the world and you've got to make a call. And it's not optimal." (See the Daily Show video, part 2 at the 1:00 minute mark. ) So, I see that Jon Stewart is just following up with Obama on all the "not optimal" issues related to foreign policy.
Ann Romney was eventually allowed to give an answer to Whoopi's questions about mourning with the families of fallen soldiers. Her husband actually went to all of the funerals of Massachusetts' soldiers while he was governor. Ann accompanied him to many but not all. I understand he will not be able to do the same as President, but he will undoubtedly do better than form letters to the families.
After bumping North Carolina into the leans Romney column, RCP now has Romney with 206 electoral votes to Obama's 201.

So, tomorrow Obama and Biden are going to be running around trying to figure out how to get their b@#*s that Hillary stole back?
"One day I gathered trash as a garbage collector. I stood on that little platform at the back of the truck, holding on as the driver navigated his way through the narrow streets of Boston. As we pulled up to traffic lights, I noticed that the shoppers and businesspeople who were standing only a few feet from me didn't even see me. It was as if I was invisible. Perhaps it was because a lot of us don't think garbagemen are worthy of notice; I disagree--anyone who works that hard deserves our respect." Mitt Romney, from his book No Apology. I watched almost the entire show and didn't see one thing about ballet shoes. It was all bad for this administration.
I have never met any of the Romneys, but I know a family that was struggling after the father was laid off. Mitt Romney gave them enough to cover their mortgage for 6 months. Another young woman I know is going to college and I just found out recently that her tuition is being paid by one of Romney's sons.
I agree with your post with one exception. I have a hard time equating the noble ideal of charity with welfare. Charity is freely given from one person to another and benefits both because sincere compassion is an integral part of the transaction and the recipient is often spiritually touched and grateful. Welfare is a result of the confiscation of money from one person to give to another. The recipient may be grateful at first, but often comes to believe that they are entitled to this largesse because to believe otherwise would mean they are somehow less competent than their fellow man. Restore Welfare to Work for the dignity of all.
