Just few minutes ago, I opened a link about a DD line on the tax form - for 0bamacare tax, and asked my coworker if she knew what it is. (She is preparing her own taxes). Her face fell and she seemed to become irked. I also asked her to read Dr. Sowell's quote on my locker: "It's amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medications and a government bureacracy to administer it". I almost feel pity towards low-information voters... no, take it back, I feel like yelling and shaking them. I would've if that helped.

People on both sides of tax issues often speak of such things as a "$300 billion tax increase" or a "$500 billion tax decrease." That is fine if they are looking back at something that has already happened. But it can be sheer nonsense if they are talking about a proposed increase or decrease in the tax rate.

The government can only raise or lower the tax rate. Whether the actual tax revenues that the government will collect as a result will go up or...
