Thank you for your comments. My husband is a doctor. We've been married for 23 years, and during that time his average work week has been 65-70 hours. I've always been annoyed by comments that imply he isn't part of the working class. The only people I have ever known that work tha hard are other doctors.

I've always taken exception to the term "working class" used to denote blue collar workers; my dad was a doctor and he was often at the hospital treating patients for 12 1/2 hours per day.  What about that isn't working?

Even so, Matt Lewis (once of Townhall) has an important piece in The Week, discussing the increasing demoralization of the working class (in the traditional sense of the term).
