Chill. Just bring your own snacks.
Will is from West Philly, not South Philly!
You seem to think that anyone who is the least critical of Obama is racist. Unfortunately, there are people in this country that oppose him because of the color of his skin, but I would say that they are in the minority. I am not a Republican -- I would say I am a slightly right of center Independent -- and I do not think Obama is doing a good job and further more, he was not qualified to be president. Tell me -- would a white man or woman with no experience in the private sector, with two years in Congress, have become leader of the free world? I think not.

I am African American, so I don't think that I am engaging in "petty racism." The sad thing about Obama is that if he fails (and I certainly don't want him to) we will...

I am a black woman and work mostly with other black people and a few whites and Latinos. I always hear white conservatives complaining about how blacks are "racist" but most of the black people I know are just trying to make an honest living. Do you really think that we don't have anything better to do than obsess over you?

On the other hand, I have a white friend who is a therapist and he says that his white clients often make disparaging comments about blacks, Mexicans, and to a lesser extent, Jews. I have also experienced a great deal of racism from whites, and I grew up in the north, not the south. But as a Christian, I have been taught not to hate anyone, and I don't.

BTW, Richard, this "low IQ" black person...

Maine vote repeals gay marriage law

Especially since Maine is a solidly blue state.

I am ambivalent about gay marriage, but hating people because of their sexual orientation is just plain wrong. I have gay friends, relatives, associates, etc. They are just like anyone else -- some are nice people, some aren't. There is a radical gay fringe, yes, but it's been my experience that most gay people just want to live their lives and be left alone.

NeoConScum: So marriage ultimately "tames" straight males? What about people like Eliot Spitzer and that other governor in South Carolina?

And yes, I do know of gay males who have long-term committed relationships. Just because some gay males are promiscuous doesn't mean all of them are.

I am sorry, I don't believe this woman's story. She had a traumatic life -- watched her mother commit suicide by jumping out of a car at age eight, was married to a controlling man, etc. I bet that soon her story will explode into "A Million Little Pieces."

I'm African American and I'm tired of the CBC. Some of their members went to Cuba and came back with glowing reports, ignoring how badly black and mixed race people are treated there. I have never been to a tea party, and there are probably some bigots in these groups, but one of my oldest friends is a white woman who is a devout Catholic, prolife conservative Republican and avid "tea partier," and she's not racist at all.

I would like to know if the CBC is really interested in helping people or whining and lining their own pockets.

I can't speak for everyone, of course, but most of the black people I know are just trying to make an honest living and survive in this crazy world. Farrakhan and Rev. Wright really don't have much of a following in the black community, no matter what the media says.
Do you really think that we have the time or energy to sit around obsessing about "blaming or hating "whitey" or reparations, etc., all day? And I'm still trying to find all these black folks that have benefitted from affirmative action. I'm sure not one of them!

Some Blacks Now Have Doubts About Obama

Perhaps some black people are questioning Obama but I certainly don't see it in Philadelphia.

And he still has the unions in his pocket.
