When a drug commercial comes on I do not really listen to what it does, I listen to the side affects. In most cases the side affects are WORSE than the disease the drug treats!

This illustrates why the requirement that drug advertisers list the side effects is a bad idea. The idea was that the advertiser should properly inform the potential patient. The problem is that if the patient is not bright enough and interested enough to educate himself, just listing something on a 60-second ad will not inform him, it will just confuse him.
