As a conservative Republican I am less than optimistic that the Republican Party will wrest control of either the House or the Senate in 2010. I will try to simplify for brevity's sake, but here are the reason for my pessimism. 1) Republicans have a history of grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory. I expect that will continue. 1) There is a lack of overall leadership and little cohesion in either strategy or issue statements. 3) Certain Individuals have enunciated principles and strategies, but they have not been supported by a large number of candidates.
