When Figures Lie: Chevy Volt Puts the Government in Government Motors

Not much meat on this article regarding the fraudulent nature of Volt "sales". Before you get into the ACTUAL cost of getting one of these novelties out of the factory you have to account for the forced nature of the sales (many are fleet sales to GE and others) and the current state of these vehicles. It is known as "channel stuffing". If you want to make your numbers perk up, offer incentives to dealers to take cars (or punishments if they refuse to order them). Even these half-a33ed figures for the Volt are fictitious. Check for the details. Searching "Volt" will produce enough dissection of this latest mendacity to make Joe Biden puke.

GM Expects Volt Sales to Set Monthly Record says the normally sane Wall Street Journal.

Chevy Volt broke monthly sales record in August reports the Associated Press.
