Once again, the "journalists" covering this become cheerleaders instead of watchdogs. All it would take is one person raising the question that study after study shows preschool programs do not work. By the time a child is eight years old, it is virtually impossible to differentiate between children who went to preschool from those who didn't.

President Obama's recent stumping for a federal preschool initiative has promised a lot to America. In his State of the Union speech, he spoke of making "high-quality preschool available to every single child in America." In his push, however, President Obama is promising something he has no plan to deliver.
