Great column. Sadly, the politics of envy are alive and well and living in Washington. It seems so much easier to grab someone else's bone than earn your own. What a way to miss the whole point of your life!

We are reactionary mice and you are "honest patriots"....sigh... That's your premise. And it is exactly why we are upset. You don't acknowledge anyone else's point of view. You are a discontented, unhappy person who uses this forum to spout bullying diatribes. No one will ever respect your perspective, because you don't understand respect must be a two way street. It is a common error among the left. You are boorish children who could use some education in manners. So sad, you poor, miserable thing.

BTW- your numbers on the mall were clearly incorrect. But then again, you 're looking at the world through your own jaded eyes. So sad.
I totally disagree with your premise that Conservatives are "the enemy within".

I can tell you that your attitude is exactly what infuriates and galvanizes Conservatives. You somehow seem to believe that you and your ilk are superior to we mere mortals.

You insult us, tax us, lie to us and then become incensed when we fight back.

America is the land of my birth and the greatest nation in the world. Do we have problems? Yes. Are they unsolvable? Hmmmm. I guess it depends on how you look at it.

Based on Medved's analogy, I'm a conservative because I am a happy person. Did I become happy because of the Government? Not a chance. My happiness comes from the acknowledgment that my successes are my own and I have never stopped being grateful for them.

I work with elderly and disabled adults. I find the old analogy of the glass half empty/full applies to most people. Those who are not happy are always searching for reasons to blame some one or some thing for their discontent. Those who are happy are usually simpler and sweeter people.
