In Praise of Walmart

Sam Walton had a few good ideas -- keep prices low, sell to the neglected masses out in flyover country, maintain an independent fleet of trucks -- and he made a fortune. His successors have turned his company into a scale model of the federal government that it has become too cozy with. It's bloated, topheavy, bureaucratic, self-important, overrun by idiots, preoccupied with fads and shiny things, mired in political correctness, and far too dependent on China. On the other hand, consumers have a simple choice: buying cheap, toxic foreign junk at Walmart and other big-box stores or paying local retailers a lot more for the same junk. That's a no-brainer even for a lot of leftists.

WOW, where did all these leftist anti-walmart trolls come from with their lies and nonsense?

I'm willing to bet that Sam Walton is rolling over in his grave.

Or banging on the coffin lid.

Once again I am here to sing the praises of Walmart. Over the years I have done so on many occasions.

Many misguided souls take the other side. They blame Walmart for ruining mom and pop grocery stores, mom and pop hardware stores, etc.

Not me, I praise cheaper prices. Moreover, it's what consumers voted for with there hard-earned dollars.

If anyone wants to pay more for stuff, all they have to do is shop at a mom and pop hardware...
