I have many Latinos here as well. They feel entitled to what America has to offer. Some feel entitled because they have been taught that America stole their land (We fought for it). I have heard them say things like "Why can't we have a chance of being rich". The fact that I tell them...you can, (isn't America great)...well once they find out it is hard work that gets it....turned off.

Since Tuesday the republican have been wringing their hands over the hispanic vote. They think we lost it because of immigration policies, they want amnesty, they want open borders. An article in National Review by Heather McDonald says pretty much what you said. It's not that they come here to work and only vote for democrats because of immigration policies. They vote democratic because that's who offers all the freebies. The dems are Santa Clause and it's real hard to beat Santa Clause. Here's that article. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/332916/why-hispanics-dont-vote-republicans-heather-mac-donald

You are right. Yes there are many hardworking people of every background and definitely many Latinos.. I guess I am cynical because it is the people that I meet on a regular basis that have that attitude.

All the Latinos I know are VERY hard-working. It isn't hard work that turns them off. I believe it's that too many of them know or are related to those in the illegal status. Those Latinos who came here the right way would agree with that assessment, but they are the minority in the Latino community. Latinos are family oriented and God-fearing people. They aren't afraid of hard work. They are afraid of their family and loved ones being sent back to poverty. I don't agree that we should just give up our borders and allow amnesty, but these are hard, hard working people and surely, with what they bring to the table (work ethic and family values) there could be a happy medium in there somewhere.

I know many Wealthy and Successful Latinos -they have as much chance to make it as anyone else- they are the only thing holding themselves or limiting themselves.
They must be hanging around Progressives who do not care to achieve anything themselves and wish to hold the Latinos back and poison their minds just as they have done with the blacks for decades with their keep them on the Plantation tricks -just look at the history and timeline between the Blacks and liberals -it is disgusting -Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson what have they ever done to improve their lot and Obama what has he done that is so pro active for them ? Birds Chirping .
Brandon, a 9-year-old black kid, attended a campaign rally hosted by Michelle Obama. A cameraman interviewed Brandon, who was there with his dad. "Why does (Obama) need to win?" he was asked. "Because if Mitt Romney wins," he replied, "we'll be going back to the crop fields. We'll be picking crops." Off-screen, his father could be heard laughing.

From whom does a 9-year-old hear that Obama's opponent is a racist who, to quote the Democratic National Committee chairwoman, wants "to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws"?

Brandon's father might alert his son to a recent column...
