You may gave written a good article but I never got past the first page. We never fought a civil war over slavery. We fought a civil war over the south seceding from the union and therefore the country losing the vast income that the union lost because of that action.

Most of the wealth of the nation was in the North. That is why the Confederacy lost the Civil War. The South seceded because they felt disenfranchised by the Northern Abolitionists coming to power, and they thought they needed slavery to keep their agricultural economy working. They also started the war by capturing Fort Sumpter because they were certain that President Lincoln would never stand for the loss of half of his domain. The War to End Slavery was a major propaganda line the North used to recruit soldiers.
