Look at Nixon's policy positions, many here would have denounced him as a liberal. Reagan too had his moments that would have not passed the test here as a true conservative. I am saying this as a life long Repub voter. Read history and step back to examine before condemning Repubs, like Christie, as not worthy of the party. We are endanger of shrinking the tent and dooming the party to minority status.

New Jersey governor Chris Christie was not invited to address the Conservative Political Action Conference because of his position on gun control, according to a source familiar with CPAC’s internal deliberations who requested anonymity to speak freely.
