A balanced budget annually should be tied to the president and congress. Their paycheck should be held in escrow until the budget is passed each year. All their paid expenses should be stopped and they should be held in Washington, DC until the budget is passed. Then we would see why they were elected in the first place. It certainly wasn't to make speeches and throw parties. This would make TERM LIMITS acceptable for everyone. This was never intended to be a profession, just a duty to serve the people. That certainly isn't the case. We are paying people to ignor our most basic NEEDS- freedom to live, work and worship.

One of the big stories from Washington is that there may be another fight over the debt limit, which could mean…gasp, hide the women and children…gridlock, downgrades, government shutdown, default, and tooth decay.

Okay, perhaps not tooth decay, but the DC establishment nonetheless is aghast.

Last year, there were actually two big confrontations between House Republicans and President Obama.
