Your friend is so very wrong. The church doesn't have to change its teaching. Why does she feel that the church must change TRUTH to suit sin. Homosexuality is a sin against the laws of nature. The universe is made from cosmic laws and when they are not followed, there are consequences. Has she noticed what's going on in the world today. The more people accept behavior that is anti-life (abortion, homosexuality, no respect for marriage between a man and woman, aethism), the more intense are the consequences, i.e., hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, murder, drug use and on and on.
