Economists who led the ex-Soviet countries from communism to free markets have much wisdom for us. For the most part, they were demonized just like the TEA party, but in time, Poland, Czech Republic and Russia emerged with growth. Gaidar's "Russia A Long View" takes a sweeping look at the history of economic/social systems from hunter/gatherer to post-industrial democracy. Our problems, like Western European countries, are our entitlement programs and our failing education system. However, Chile tackled the same problems, and is now one of the freest, most prosperous countries in the world. It can be done, but it takes brave citizens who understand the problem, and not clueless academic elitists.

Now, suddenly, the Tea Party is everybody’s whipping boy.

Liberals, in the wake of the election, gloat about what they see as liberalism’s return to the mainstream and good riddance to the end of the Republican “extremists.”

And, despite the spin, which never stops in Washington, it is not accidental that four prominent Tea Party congressmen have been purged from key committee posts by Speaker John Boehner.
