Doug, I will be buying your book for my dtr and her dear husband, whom I love and respect. I want them to teach my sweet grand-dtr and/or let me help teach her to use firearms properly and learn enough martial arts for self defense. I taught my dtrs how to use firearms. Thanks for writing the columns and the book! Wayne O. Scotts Valley, Ca

I don't know about the "debate". I only want to know if anyone else has experienced this. When I opened Mikes column on Townhall, A window called AVC ( I think) opened and claimed I had MANY virus on my system. I use Norton. I worry that a hacker has hooked in a true virus to Mikes column! Anyone else? Marv Orwig Scotts Valley, CA
C'mon you idiot! You must know Dougs style of writing, since you deign to critique it... He's a young man after my own heart! SAY IT PLAIN AND UNDERSTANDABLE!!! Your comment , while 'well written' and as though you were very erudite, has no content. Dougs column has much meaning...
Right on! I've ranted on this for MANY years! My many liberal friends and even some stupid patriotic friends have fallen into multiculture. Like, after all, there's 'Chinatown' in frisco, etc. They don't get it that muslims are MUSLIMS! They don't want to assimilate. They want to take over! One tenet of islam is that a muslim can lie, smiling, to a non-muslim. That's what is happening now in America. cair and any other muslim org will use our legal system to promote their agenda, while smiling and lying about their true intent. The bleeding heart liberals are ignorant and/or idiots. muslims MUST be watched and not allowed to establish sharia enclaves anywhere in America! I'm with Doug... Send them ALL back!

Is the Constitution Senile?

Marvin111 Wrote: Jan 05, 2011 12:26 AM
In my humble 66+ year old opinion, having received my public school education, the words in the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution are unambiguous! The words mean the same as when first penned. Apparently, judging by some of the previous comments, many folks don't know that when a court reviews the intent of a law passed in any legislature, the court takes into account the debate prior to passage to ascertain the actual intent of the law, regardless of the actual words in the law. There are supporting documents regarding the writing of our Constitution, most notably The Federalist Papers written by Jay, Hamilton, and Madison. Those letters explain a lot about the intent of our Constitution. There are other docs. Just...

Promises and Riots

You just echoed my rant! I've said the same for years! Thanks, and let's keep on keeping on...
The culture of career politicians must learn that they are employees, and most of their employers are unhappy with their performance. The republicans must get back to basics. Stop trying to be 'lite' democrats! Get back to the limited duties and responsibilities allocated to the Federal gov by our Constitution!!!

As I have read, serving as a Representative or Senator was considered an onerous obligation, but his duty if elected. The service took the man away from his PRIMARY means of earning a living: his farm or his business. "Serving" (HA!) has evolved to the point where our reps don't want to go back home to earn an honest living. They all seem to want to 'fleece' and 'pull the wool over' the eyes of the SHEEPLE! Very...
Mr. Prager states "I used to believe that left and right have similar goals for America, that they just differed in the means they wanted used to get there. I was mistaken. " I believe he confuses dems and reps with "left and right" as he states! I say that personally, I "used to believe" and still do, that dems and reps have same goals for America! It is not, as he says, "left and right", but the 'two major parties', and he seems to have confused things. The republican party is not "right" anymore. The democrat party is definitely "left" and has been for many years. The genuine "right" wing is the Conservative, Constitutionalist, Patriotic part of our Nation (most of us)!

Anyone, please tell me how our government became...

An Unbridgeable Philosophical Divide?

Marvin111 Wrote: Feb 25, 2010 3:40 AM
I disagree with one particular statement in latest column. It is NOT good that our rulers are centrist, or whatever the term used. All people in our elected government and the judiciary, swear to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION, not to be 'centrist', meaning "to move away from" Constitutional rule. Very bad philosophy!

Were Tea Partiers Taking Notes at CPAC?

I've read so very many comments above, so intelligently stated... I've thought for years now, that our "two parties" are ruled behind the scenes. Does anyone remember Bob Doles hangdog look during his campaign? He knew he wasn't supposed to win, and I truly believe that he was trying to tell us, though he couldn't say it. George Bush Sr. presented the same face, and maybe for the same reason. Both those men knew in advance that they were supposed to lose! McCain could have won if he had gone on offensive, but he couldn't because he probably would have won, and that was not what was supposed to happen! I know that many will call me names for believing that there is a controlling power behind our "two party system"... I'm old and...
