Its a good thing they don't care or the will of the people might actually matter.

I wonder why the slanderers of traditional marriage never go after minorities. They pretend its all religious-white-conservatives but the fact is minorities are the swing vote on this issue and are motivated to come out in favor of traditional marriage. Not a peep from anyone. Says a lot.

neither side does any reflecting on the issue. Everyone is entrenched and that is where it will stay for the immediate future.

I beg to differ about the assumption that once all the "old people die off" (never mind how demented that sounds) that the issue will turn against traditional marriage.

You're ignoring every post here. You can talk about "here and there" in the liberal bubble but its nothing compared to what you see here. I dont have to wander far to make my point, just scroll up and down and its made for me.

Would it be more digestible if i said "virtually" or "most"...semantics. My original point still stands.

The purpose of marriage is not to acknowledge your love for anyone. I love my dog but I'm not going to marry him. It's about the special and unique relationship between a man and a woman (foundation of the family) and the inherent benefit of it.

Even if your sterile the implication in principle is the same so, that argument is moot.

If marriage is just to recognize someones love for any old thing well...why bother?

An interesting one, but not a dominate one. Thats my beef. The overwhelming critique is of bigoted white male conservative religious types, I think you have to agree.

I think the liberal minded fear criticizing minorities.

...nobody loses any rights by maintaining the definition of marriage. Same rights for all people, whether you care to take advantage of it or not.

Wow, people are dense.
"failure to create jobs, its reckless indecision concerning added troops to Afghanistan, the rising death tolls in Iraq and Afghanistan -- which the MSM used as a daily bludgeoning tool against the Bush administration --"

By the way, today was the bloodiest day in the Afgan War so far. I don't want to believe this president is TRYING to make things worse...but, what the heck is the problem?! Give them the troops or leave now!

...All of a sudden Bush talking about "difficult decisions" as a significant part of his job description, ain't such a snappy liberal campaign punchline.
