Cutter: Okay Fine, We've Been Lying About Romney's Tax Plan

I am wondering why CNN defended Romney. They lean left. Do they sense that in light of an overwhelming consensus that Romney decisively won the the first debate their organization cannot afford to appear anything less than fair and balanced on this one? Otherwise they would risk exposing themselves as the Obama lovers they are (or have been) and thus degrade their credibility. Or perhaps they are still upset with Obama for jilting them on the Libya thing. Something is going on with them.

Good observation, and only time will tell what CNN will do, but I will put my money on them returning to their old ways.

I attribute CNN's rather stunning turnaround to the recent change in upper level management. Perhaps they've finally come to realize that:

1. Their ratings are in the tank, with concommittant reductions in ad revenue, and
2. Their credibility is a shredded rag,

... And the best way to repair both is to regain their footing as objective journalists. I have my doubts, but time certainly will tell. Clearly, in the area of credibility cleanup, while they've still got a ways to go, they are light-years ahead of MSNBC in that regard.

A change in management, hmmmm does sound like some change is coming about.

I hope it is for the better, and thanks for the heads up on thats.

I'm with you, James, though Joe40 could well be right, as money talks. But more often, even when a moonbeam is forced by grim circumstance to temorarily deal with reality, should the danger pass, he will return to the kool aid. Good example, lots of Carter voters threw him out in '80, but learned nothing and voted for Barry in'08. And again i fear, all a lot of voters (enough to toast Barry, i hope) have learned is that Barry is a lousy prez. They see only inept persons, not the failure of left wing policy.

One of the strongest elements of Mitt Romney's spectacular debate performance was his decisive rejoinder to the president's oft-repeated allegation that the Republican plans to raise taxes on middle class families.  Obama said Romney has designs on an unpaid-for $5 trillion tax cut that would eventually necessitate higher tax bills for average Americans.  Romney flatly rejected the claim by calling it false, then explained what he actually has in mind.  But the president returned to the "$5 trillion" well on several subsequent occasions, prompting more rebuttals from his challenger.  FactCheck.org and CNN reviewed Obama's accusation, and found it wanting....
