RT250-- I'm sure you were just as shocked when Chris Rock did a comedy skit calling President Bush retarded.

His arrogant condescending reply, was not only demeaning to Romney, but to voters. He thought the electorate was so stupid, they would appreciate a mean spirited dodge, over a relevant answer.
Many news outlets acted like the President's "Horses and Bayonets" schlock was a clever response. It was inane and classless. Romney said "Our Navy is smaller now than at any time since 1917. The Navy said they needed 313 ships to carry out their mission. We're now at under 285." The main point couldn't be clearer. According to the Navy, we have too few ships. Did the President claim Romney's numbers were wrong? Did he say the numbers were right, but they were a short term anomaly, being addressed through acquisition? Did he say the Joint Chiefs had revised their thinking, and were now good with 285? No, No, and No. Like the class clown, he tried to make a funny, hoping to cover the fact that he had no answer to the question put to him.
lois01-- Read the local Indiana papers not the liars at the Kos. Your big scandel, is simply an error by county election officials. They are allowed to purge voters from rolls, if they are inactive over 2 Federal election cycles. Instead the rolls were purged of anyone (Republican or Democrat) that had not voted in 2 election cycles. The most recent election was a local one, not a Federal one; so it shouldn't have been taken into account when the rolls were purged. They acknowledge the dumb mistake; but the GOP being caught red handed in voter fraud is about a blatant a lie as one could make.
Moran must be hoping no one actually watches the video. Never took him seriously? Was only trying to humor him? When Moran saw potential weaknesses in the proposed fraud, he actually offered his own suggestions and pointers on how to make it work without getting caught.

Why Libya Matters

Tons of ink have been spilled discussing whether of not the president's nebulous Rose Garden statement on "acts of terror" was an admission that the Benghazi attack was indeed a terrorist attack. I haven't read a word about the President completely dodging the debate question, put to him -- "We were sitting around, talking about Libya, and we were reading and became aware of reports that the State Department refused extra security for our embassy in Benghazi, Libya, prior to the attacks that killed four Americans.Who was it that denied enhanced security and why?" How can anyone think the President performed well, with such stunning refusals to address the questions put to him?

Misleading on Libya

The question people wanted answered was obvious. Was it a preplanned terrorist attack, or was it a spontaneous mob act due to a video? The White House response was clear. They condemned the video over and over; making no reference to a preplanned attack. When it became clear it was a preplanned attack, the President; pathetically back peddled, trying to assert he had said it was a terrorist attack all along. I guess he meant a spontaneous terrorist attack by a mob incensed over a video. This was never about the semantics of whether the President uttered the word terror. It was about whether a terror cell preplanned the event. On this, the real question, we were mislead for two weeks.

Obama Wants More Money

Obama keeps carping on how Romney's math doesn't add up; so let's talk math. If Obama gets all the tax increases he wants, he will (at best) get an additional 65 billion dollars in revenue in 2013. The 2013 deficit is projected to be (again) over a trillion dollars. You can only reduce the nations debt by spending less than you take in. You need much more in tax revenue than Obama is proposing; or you need to cut spending. Under Clinton, we were spending about 19% of GDP on government during the years we had a surplus. That doesn't include raiding the social security surplus, which supposedly will have to be paid back. Under Obama government spending has been about 25% of GDP. That's the math. Raise taxes or cut spending. Where's the plan?
LiveFree-- Succinctly put. Well done.
The Department of labor contracted a study in 2009 with Consad Research of Pittsburgh to study this very question. That study concluded that all but 5 to 7 cents (per dollar) of the wage gap could be explained by factors other than outright discrimination. The study did not conclude that 5 to 7 cents was caused by discrimination. It could have been caused by discrimination or other hard to identify factors. The important thing is that this study, was commissioned during Obama's Presidency. He knows that at most, gender discrimination in pay is 7 cents per dollar. He was happy to allow the impression that it is 28 cents, when he almost certainly knows otherwise.
