I earned an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, AND a master certificate and I have zero debt. Zero. I paid for every class through with my money, money from the military, or money from my employers. Anyone who comes out of college with $50K worth of debt is an idiot.
Nobody here is defending George Bush’s spending record. Nobody is defending his bailout record. We wanted him to stop spending, and we want Obama to stop spending.

Brent Bozell certainly has a right to his opinion, but I hope he doesn’t think the government should do anything about what’s on TV. I don’t want Nancy Pelosi OR John Boehner telling me what to watch. If you don’t like a particular show, for whatever reason, turn the station. Or use the ON/OFF button.

Who cares. My TV has this really cool feature. It’s called an on/off button. If you don’t like the programming, for whatever reason, don’t watch it. But don’t try to dictate what everyone else is allowed to watch. What’s the difference between liberals in New York telling us we can’t eat salt and conservatives telling us we can’t watch shows with naked women? You are either for freedom, and freedom of speech, freedom of thought, and freedom to do whatever you want as long as it doesn’t interfere with the rights of others, or you are not.

A Better Way to Reform Welfare

How about we stop ALL the federal welfare programs. Everything. Food stamps, subsidized housing, Head Start, Pell Grants, EVERYTHING. The individual states should be the ones to decide how to take care of their citizens. And if the citizens don’t like the way the state is managing its budget, they can vote with their feet.

Gun Owners Have a Right to Privacy

William, you are being stupid. Gun permit records are NOT public record now. That’s the whole point. Ms. Madigan wants to make them public record. Well, what about releasing the names of everyone in the state who has tested positive for HIV? Hepatitis? Tuberculosis? Doesn’t the public have a right to know this information to protect them from possible infection? What are releasing the names of everyone who gets any sort of welfare? Food stamps. Subsidized housing. After all, its taxpayer money, and we have a right to make sure it’s used properly. You can’t be for an absolute right to privacy for something like abortion, and then not care at all about privacy for something you don’t care about. Or disagree with.

What difference would it make if he had any employees? Or if he let them go? He is free to negotiate any salary he can get with the people who are willing to pay him for his services or products. Do you really want some governmental agency deciding what is a “fair” salary? What is a “fair” price? If they do it for CEOs, they will need to do it for everyone, and everything. Call me crazy, but I’d rather be free to live my life as I choose.

It says on Cal’s website that he is the number one syndicated columnist in the country, and has authored many books, and speaks regularly on Fox News. I don’t know what he’s paid, but I’d bet the ranch it’s in the millions a year. Does HE deserve to be paid millions of dollars just for sitting in front of a computer and turning out opinions all day long? Does HE really need all that money? The average salary in the US is about 40,000 a year. Why should HE get 10 to 100 times the national average? Either you believe in freedom, or you don’t. Quit worrying about what someone else is getting paid. I did a search on career builder and found 2336 jobs that advertise a salary over 100,000. If you think you deserve more money, go...
What disastrous policies?
"Parental control isn't the solution because parents typically have no way to fully review these games before giving or denying permission to their children to play them." Really? This is EXACTLY the solution. We don't need the government telling us what is right or wrong for our kids, or for ourselves.
