I think the award is indirectly given to the American people who voted for someone who believes in the ideal of worldwide peace. People judge countries by their leaders unfortunately, and under Bush, The U.S. looked pretty bleak in the eyes of the world. When we elected Obama, it was a true statement of fact that the American people reject Bush's worldview, and that America does want to create strong relationships around the world.

I have to defend the media on this one. This guy's comparison of Jackson's death to seven soldiers in Afghanistan is wrong. Jackson was a celebrity, and whether you like it or not, celebrities, politicians, and other public figures always get priority when it comes to news attention whether liberal, conservative or middle media. Even if the news had mention the seven soldiers, only 1% of viewers would remember them after the report was finished. Let's stop pretending that America doesn't love its celebrities, whether they are scandalous or not.
