Obama Playing Chicken With Economic Disaster

I think Obama wants taxes to go up on everyone. He wants to continue to increase spending, revenues have to come from somewhere. He seems to think that if he is able to raise taxes on everyone, he will have more to spend. It is the flawed logic of the economic illiterate. But, this way he will blame the Republicans for allowing taxes to increase. He will claim he wants a compromise, but will continue to obfuscate and change what he wants in a deal. Just remember, if you want to fundementally change society, you have to destroy the old society first.

A+. Gold star. You pretty much nailed it. Except that economics, like the constitution will be applied to the modern enlightened government we just ushered in. Fairness will rule, and the coercive power of government will be wielded against the greedy ones to favor the poor and lower middle classes. Obama's government will rule for fairness. And it is fair to punish those who oppose fairness.

And I can see this is all based on careful analysis of macroeconomic opinion from the world's strongest thinkers and economists.

How come you didn't get an invitation to speak at their last forum? Did your invitation get lost in the mail?

I'm with you and Senator Barrasso. I believe that has been his plan all along.
Many progressive reporters and bloggers have been pushing the idea that going over the fiscal cliff into January will have very little effect on the economy and will actually help President Obama achieve his legislative goals. Indeed, Republican Sen. Barrasso hypothesized that President Obama was "eager" to go over the cliff.

Unfortunately, going over the fiscal cliff has real economic effects, and the progressives who are claiming otherwise are irresponsibly pushing the country to unnecessary economic pain.
