Not true. Go to your school board meeting. You find it peopled with rubber stamps for the teacher's union. Parents do have the vote. But they often are out campaigned by the unions. Candidates who get themselves elected that are conservative are hounded out in one term by people standing up in the meetings and obstructing everything. Even if a majority is obtaines, it is hounded until they just quit. I've seen it. The unions have a choke hold, and it isn't the parents. If you want things to change, run for the school board and be prepared for gestapo tactics against you.
