The Fannie Mae Health System

In 1938, it was the Federal National Mortgage Association that was founded, now called Fannie Mae. The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, which was founded later, is called Freddie Mac. Fannie Mae started life as an actual federal agency. Later, it became a publicly held corporation operating under a federal charter (whatever that's supposed to mean), like Freddie Mac.
