Having the other party in control for a while is good. It presents an opportunity for the country to really see both sides and compare. It also has the added benefit of keeping the out of power party in check with their values.

Charles is correct. Obama and the left are adopting the policies of the right. In some areas they are taking it further. For example the “Einstein” Cyber Shield due to be released by Homeland Security goes far beyond anything Bush proposed. Yet the left doesn't make a peep.

Kamikaze politics is the term I have been using for it.

Even if Obama himself is done, he can always resume his position at a higher stature for sacrificing for the cause. I am sure the United Nations are already eyeing him for leadership.
