To all of those "social justice" Catholics. Jesus the Christ was not a socialist or communist or a progressive. He came to be the Lamb of God and to show us Who God is. Jesus was in the beginning with God because He is the God of the Old Testament and HE CAME TO FULFILL IT and bring in the New Covenant. The Law could not save. Only God's mercy and grace saves mankind.

And if you call yourself a believer but you think that entitles you to break His laws then you are not on the path that leads to God's kingdom. You are on the other path.

If you align yourself with those that support Hugo Chavez, and shout "Viva la revolution" you are not a saved believer.

Exactly right, Marie!

Its amazing too me how many people seem surprised, even Christians, when I tell them the Burning Bush on Mount Sinai, the one Moses encountered, that was JESUS CHRIST manifesting himself before his time, and Jesus himself confirmed it when he called himself the "I AM"

He was asked why he speaks as if he knew Abraham, and he said; "Before Abraham was, I AM"

Dobermite, The Trinity is difficult and I am afraid in my childhood I was taught in such a way that made me think that Jesus did not appear on the scene until Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit. You are right. Reading Scripture and seeing for yourself, the Truth, is the answer. We cannot attend to our faith once a week for an hour.

What if I told you, every place where God appears in the Old Testament, whether its Adam & Eve's encounter with God in the Garden of Eden, Abraham's encounter with God when directed to sacrifice Isaac, Moses encounter with God on Mount Sinai and many others ... each one of those encounters was an encounter with Jesus, the Son of the Holy Trinity, and not the Father.

How do I know that?

Jesus said, no-one has seen the Father but the Son, therefore unless Jesus lied, and he cannot lie, he is the truth, the one and only truth, that means none of those encounters were with the Father, they were all with the Son.

Thats why He responded that He is the I AM in the context of the OT prophets and why he spoke as if he knew them.

With the conclave to elect the next pope set for Tuesday, the College of Cardinals has been meeting all week to discuss the priorities of the church and the qualities its new pope must possess. Further, the College of Cardinals must also consider the attitudes of the Catholic people when electing the next pope.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Friday indicates that while 52% of Catholics said the church is moving in the right direction, 52% of those polled also said the church is out of touch with the views of Catholics in America.
