In response to Kathy in MO (#272), the Gulf Coast oil disaster is a little more than a bit of spilled milk. It's taking out a significant amount of the country's shrimp, oyster and fish natural resources and the livelihoods behind them for years, not to mention other aspects of that ecosystem. Yes, the oil company will do some cleanup, but what it ultimately pays in cleanup likely will be only a portion of the actual costs.

Re: wind power ... statistically, the average housecat in the U.S. kills approximately the same number of birds each year as does the average windmill.

There are negatives with every power source -- some just have more negatives than others.
