Boilerplate leftist talk, Hal. Tax the rich. What happens when they are tapped out? The bigger the govt, the less freedom we have. If you think we can tax our way back to whatever you consider success is you are simply wrong. Republicans say we should return to 2008 budget levels. I say we should return to 1998 level as a mere starting point to start cutting out unconstitutional portions of the govt. In this case, as is often the case, LESS IS MORE.

With what money? Or more importantly with whose money? If the government is broke, (and is definitely is!) it shouldn't fund anything new at all.

Merry Colin, You are right. Hal is incapable of discerning the difference between Islam and Christianity, and Political hacks and Christians. Unfortunately I wasted some time writing responses to his delusions.

Hal, You missed it entirely. The political philosophy of Statists, large government on the left or the right squashes individual freedom and natural human rights. Because Islam is political and wants to set up a world wide caliphate they could be considered Statists. Religious extremism in the political realm is something to be feared. Until you are able to distinguish between the philosophy of Christianity and the politics of nominal christians, and the political system that is Islam you are and will continue to be clueless. Your many posts indicate you do not discern the clear difference between the two. How many groups of Methodists have flown jets into buildings of strapped bombs to themselves and their children? Wake up Hal!

Hal, So, did the government run the railroads, did the feds build the rockets and the electronic components, did the govt educate the GI's, and did the govt contribute any of the recent innovations in the internet? Or did they just set up favorable conditions for free enterprise to do what no government has been successful at doing? Now back to Islam and Christianity, I will repost this: Hal, I have studied history, extensively. I guess I assumed you could make distinctions based on logic. I'll try to simplify it for you: the Koran calls for world political domination. The new testament does not. The Bible was used by POLITICIANS to justify all kinds of evil. There's a difference there. Can you discern it? One religion calls for...

Hal, No political party or politician can "create" jobs. Government at best can get out of the way of free enterprise. You claim to have studied history? Why don't you hold forth on how jobs are created, Hal? I would be interested to see if you have a clue.

The new testament does not. The Bible was used by POLITICIANS to justify all kinds of evil. There's a difference there. Can you discern it? One religion calls for peace, the other for war to bring about submission. One religion uses dialog and verbal persuasion to expand, the other the sword. You say Islam is no different? Your thought process is faulty. Your point about the Saudis is right on the mark.

Hal, you'll find those jobs in the same place you'll find the jobs Obama promised, along with the closing of gitmo, 8% unemployment, cost savings for health care, open and transparent government, etc.

Hal! Once again confusing nominally christian politicians with Christians who by in large abhor bigotry, violence, and I might add your dismal ignorance.

Hal Donahue, Why do leftists like yourself confuse religion with crass politics on a regular basis? As far as I know, no responsible Christian denomination or sect approves of what happened in Yugoslavia, Lebanon, Northern Ireland or throughout the sordid history of the world. There is no New Testament Biblical call for world domination in the political realm. Surely a man of your experience can distinguish between that fact and the clear demand for world political domination made in the Koran? Evil people exist in all cultures and religions, unfortunately. Many of these evil people are politicians or in positions of authority. Take off those rose colored glasses Hal, and see the world as it is. As to Glen Beck, he has his...
