It may seem a little incredulous to you, but when I go into a fast food restaurant and give the person at the register $5.45 for a $3.43 tab and they have to call the manager to do the change, it does get slightly ridiculous. Also when I give them even bills and tell them what the change is before the computer does, they are flabbergasted and ask how I did that. As to the coming in early, many of the people that I know in the hospitality field constantly complain about their employees or co-workers who either call-in on a regular basis for sickness or are consistant in lateness. They are reluctant to fire some of them since there don't always have applications for others to take their place.
