If Ayers isn't careful he could become a Marcy Park victim in the coming months if he wishes to continue to speak about writing Prez obama's book(s) for him!

I enjoy saying that Prez Obama has acted and spoken 'stupidly' at some crucial moments in his first year as President. Do you think he would agree? Perhaps a few beers on the back WH lawn will cure the distrust now building in this country.

It would have been "Racism" if when the Cambridge Police had received the call they would have said, "Oh that's the address of that Black guy, Gates. Let's not respond to the call. Let him deal with a burglary attempt on his own. We don't need and should not have to help a Black homeowner - uppity so and so...

The time line on this is unclear to me. Was there not a chance that a burglar was in Gates house when the police came to Gates door? Had Gates checked the entire house for someone possibly hiding inside the home? Maybe the police needed to do that before leaving? Especially when Gates tells them that the house had been broken into previously and his front door lock mechanism was not fixed (yet?).

Sure, neither party acted well in this instance but Gates obviously was resdy to fight the minute an otherwise interested and helpful policman appeared.

Americans fell for the Balloon Boy story just like they fell for the Obama story in 2008. Neither story was researched and it was only later when the public began to see how they were duped. I hope when the Obama balloon comes crashing down that we Americans can all survive and move forward.

It appears that Prez Obama will say ANYTHING to anyone in order to gain their support.

He seems to not even care that someone can call him on it. He just moves on and laughs at the rest of us who have a sense of decency and truthfulness in our souls.

In all fairness and for objectivity, if Barone is going to write about USA families in politics for generations he must at least mention the Bush royals also.

It should not be that difficult for Obama to get us out of Afghanistan. Most Americans see this as a quagmire looming. The Soviets proved that starting 30 years ago.

I know this is only a small example of what might be happening in this country but we voted out a Democrat mayor (Marty Chavez)yesterday and voted for a Republican mayor (R.J. Berry). The city council will also have a majority of Republicans after yesterday's voting.

This might not mean much to the rest of you but it is meaningful here in New Mexico. Local politics have been mostly Dem controlled the past few decades and last November all three of the NM congressional seats and our two US senators were all Dems for the first time. Maybe the tide really is shifting? I sure hope so. I only wish it was already 2010 and that we were voting for congrssional seats next month!
