I ALREADY have a stash of emergency provisions which I keep in my car at all times - which actually was an outgrowth, as I've often stated on this site, of my days in California in the 1990's when FEMA came to my employer's worksite to conduct a seminar on earthquake preparedness and advised us to have an emergency stockpile readily handy in case the Big One hit and we might find ourselves on our own for a few days in the aftermath.

Of course, that stockpile has now been tailored with a SHTF situation in mind, not just simply a natural disaster.
