Big Brother on Your Tail

While i can understand the presumption of "in plain sight" and, to a degree, the reasonable expectation of privacy here, I disagree with the government being able to get my location and travel information without a warrant.

In Plain Sight -- since we walk and talk with our cell phones transmitting over open airwaves it can be accepted that these discussions are in the open.

Reasonable Expectation of Privacy -- How much privacy can one reasonably expect on a park bench? In a subway station? or any other public venue at which cell phones are used.

Even though the first two points are valid I am holding to the basis of our legal system; Innocent Until Proven Guilty. Unless and Until Big Brother has Probable Cause and...
How has Obama lied?
Let us ALL count the ways

Open Meetings regarding legislation
Bipartisan discussions
Lowering the deficeit
Being a uniter
Will listen to the will of the people
Keeping America at the front of the space/tech race
Keeping America Safe in this unsteady world
Representing America in its greatness

Go ahead folks, this is an open thread ... add to it!!
Sir, I take DEEP offense at your calling Wasaman, err, Waxman a rat! I have had many pet rats and found them to be quite friendly, gentle, caring, and intelligent. Certainly, you do not see Wasaman in that light.
Ooops! Waxman is Torquemada ... he is putting the screws to anyone and everyone in corporate leadership who would dare to speak the truth. He is standing on the Party Line. He has made it clear that he will hold useless hearings (his own admission from the steroid hearings), admittedly waste tax payer time and money (implicityly stated), and has proven that he will try to flay any person or business that is a threat to the Party Line (Toyota underwent needless press and investigatinos while on page 8 there was a tiny 5 line blurb that Government Motors was conducting a 2.8 million car recall). Wasaman, err, Waxman has clearly sold out the United States Constitution, The California State Constitution, and the well being of his...

The Consequences of Violence

The statement which Klir made "We have been all around telling our people not to be violent. People in the south know what violence is. They know the consequences." When I have seen other political/military leaders say things like this it was always a harbinger of more violence. The new wave of violence was then balmed on the opposition to which the statement was directed. Look at Somalia. Look at Liberia, Charles Taylor I hope you rot. Seriously, look anywhere in Africa ... you can see that the border lines and societal structures which were emplaced by well-meaning colonizers (France, Italy, Britain, for some) did not reflect that the influence of tribal hunter gatherers along side tribal farmers ... add to this mix a proverb that is...

Dems Lose Argument -- Win Dirty

Jack ... for me, a conservative and a Christian, it is not so much that the RNC card was used to pay for part of a $2,000 tab at a bondage club. As a Christian, I have been taught to loath the sin but not the sinner. Besides, how can the $2,000 at an S&M club truly be a horrible thing when Barney Frank's appartment was being used as a male prostitution ring?

Annfann ... I would add hypocrisy to the list of charges against the Left. Seriously, putting up a known supporter of NAMBLA as the "Safe" Schools Czar? A supporter of NAMBLA overseeing schools and Jack is kvetching ... ::sigh::

I Believe in the Resurrection of America

PL, OUTSTANDING! Well said!

Ryan ... i fyou truly, deeply believe that this country is not and never has been a Christian country then do some reading. Look at the Declaration of Independence ... you see those names at the bottom? The signatures? Yeah, those ... most of those men were either preachers of deacons in their churches. Go ahead, look it up.

If one truly believes in a system, be it religious or not, they will behave in a manner that supports the tennets and teachings of that system. It is precisely that reason (coupled with the proof found through the FIRST experiment in this country with socialism) that this country, The United States of America, having been on this earth for a mere 240 years has become the...
You rock, Gunny!!! Thank you for your service to this, the greatest country, on earth! The greatest country and, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, the world's last best hope.

Bless you, Gunny!!
In a post on this page you put up the following definition of Socialism

DSM wrong
You gave a vague definition of what could be a political right.

The definition of socialism goes something like this.
SOCIALISM- a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

I think the problem with this country has more to do with the fact that people are not educated.

=====

What you did not include on this, from Dictionary.com, is that (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect...
