It used to be that BSA was somehting people were proud to put on their resume. Now, people will ask "Oh- I see BSA here, does that mean you are gay?" Well - they won't because you cannot ask orientation in an interview. But people will give you funny looks. At least those moreal ones who care.

Why can’t the Boy Scouts of America hold to the same moral code and resulting lifestyle principles they’ve held to since their formation?

No. What’s changed is the brazenness of those who oppose both the code and those who stand by it.
