Slavery in America, Saudi-Style

The Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in states that were in rebellion against the United States. West Virginia broke from Virginia at the start of the war and was a slave state; its slaves weren't freed. So your statement reflects the ignorance the prior poster deplores. The bigger travesty is that the United States was the only western power to fight a war to free it's slaves.
My solution: honk twice then floor it. It's you're own fault if you get hit.
I personally have always maintained that "Compassionate Conservatism" was too compassionate and not nearly conservative enought.
It was once remarked that when a country adopts socialized medicine, that country has that level of medicine forever. Healthcare in 2012 isn't too bad. Also what is too bad is that we'll never know what the future would hold for innovation. I want to know what bribe "Justice" Roberts accepted to violate the constitution.
