The number of people who died of the so called Swine Flu in China with its 1.3 Billion people is ZERO as to date.

Therefore, it is not the swine flu, but the vaccinations that are to scare the living daylights out of us. Are they to be used for much more sinister reasons? I think so.

imbalanced in AZ, you write: "Sotomayor was only looked at sideways because she was Hispanic. A white guy with the same record would've been just fine with most conservatives."

Sorry, you are imbalanced. Sotomayor has been practicing her craft not based on interpretation of Constitutional law but on her own racial experience and that is NOT what the Supreme Court should do. That is why she should not be picked. Too many judges interpret the law according to their personal crap, not on the Constituion.
Any Supreme Court judge, no matter the color, who places his or her decissions on personal predjudices ought to scare the hell out of anybody.

Wise Latina's foremost ought to be wise enough to stay within the Constitution...
A normal person's reaction would have been gratitude that neighbors cared enough to alert the police that a forced entry was in progress and that the police came and checked if there was a burglary. Instead, the jerk immediately got angry. It was his attitude causing the problem.

To me, there is no question about the fact that the Prof is /was looking for a confrontation. Had it been a black cop, nothing would have come of it, but oh boy, here is a white cop, let's make the most of it. The Prof teaches what he practiced and to me, it is racism. Oh sorry, couldn't be, only white folk a racists. Mea culpa!

Fighting Fat by Fighting Fat

It is a known fact that soft drinks, if sweetened with corn syrup or artificial sweeteners such as Splenda or Aspartame are part of the fat problem. Add to it the foods sweetend with these sugars and sugar substitutes as well as the fats and other manipulated food additives and the body puts on fat because it does not know what to do with it, so it stores it as fat.

Might it be wise to rethink the food industry and regulate what people eat from that angle or is that too simple an idea for our politicians?

David, certainly Obama is using your theory that conspiracy nuts help his cause to the fullest, otherwise, why would he spend over one million dollars to hide his records?

Somewhere, something makes no sense and does make the average citizen wonder.
Obama thugocracy - and we thought Bill and Hillary, W and Chaney were bad.

As we descend into 3rd world status, we evermore acquire 3rd world politics and politicians.

"Miley Cyrus and Trampy Teen Idols" should have read "Miley Cyrus yet another Trampy Teen Idol".

Actually, I'm not shocked, after all, I've watched school girls dress like sluts for over 20 years. Good grief, just look what's walking through the malls. If schools didn't have dress codes, you'd see them walk into school every day and some do get away with it even there. And while you are at it, listen to their language, too.

Where's the health in health care reform?

Read this excellent article by Mike Adams. More valid today than it was in 2005.

"You can't reform your way out of chronic disease by changing who pays for it. You can't take away a nation of degenerative brain disorder sufferers and a whole generation of children who have been born with malfunctioning nervous systems because of the malnutrition the mothers have been experiencing. You can't take that away by changing who's writing...

Family Planning to Save the Planet?

Back in the 70s, my family bought into the Ehrlich and other academics' theories about Zero Population Growth. We settled for 2 children only to then have our government open the floodgates to immigrants from all over the world, few of which thought much about Zero population Growth.

Here, as in Europe, the smaller local families resulted in fewer workers and thus governments forced immigrants and with it instability on their citizens.

And academics and bureaucrats are still at it - forever messing with humanity.

Over the last few weeks I've been "forced" to come across balanced's drivel, realizing that he/she or it is not balanced at all but rather unhinged.

I feel greatly HARMED by balanced's irrational, often crotesquly left leaning comments. So, I petition that my pain having to see its name, not even reading its crap, is greater than unhinged's pain can be by being made to stop posting on TH's comment box.
