In response to:

Time for You to Address Violence in Black Communities, Mr. Obama

A very moving plea that will fall on deaf ears and hard hearts. Obama's interest in Black Americans goes as deep as his agenda (i.e., how can I use them?). That goes for most liberals, too. The Black community itself lacks any leadership -- at least, any that they will listen to -- that will look them in the eye and tell them what truly is at the root of their social/economic/moral problems. There were such high hopes for this segment of the population during the Civil Rights Movement. People looked at Dr. King as representing their great potential. Then the destruction began as liberals took aim and enslaved Blacks once more with stirred anger, a false sense of entitlement, and welfare.

It always made me wonder why people like Bill Cosby, Herman Cain and Allen West are vilified by blacks.
Nobody is more for his race than Bill Cosby, and it is as if he is hated by them.
Thankfully, despite the rhetoric from the Left, blacks are not monolithic, and, more and more, individuals are starting to think for themselves, but Democrats, and parasites like Sharpton. keep them afraid and confident they cannot get a piece of the pie without protection.
And it is they who need to also start judging a person by the content of their character, rather than their race. A good many blacks seem hopelessly bigoted, but that also seems to be changing.

It's crabs in a bucket.

One crab tries to crawl out, and the rest latch on and pull him back down.

It's envy of the lowest, basest sort.

Your last point of saying that blacks seem to be changing for the better is not what I see. I think they are getting more bigoted and shamelessly immoral because of the lack of good societal values, i.e. marriage, education, etc. What I see in the news is viciousness, gang attacks, unwed mothers on welfare, drug peddlers, and much more.

Dear Mr. Obama,

This week Hadiya Pendleton was shot and murdered in Chicago just days after performing with high school marching band at your second inauguration.

She was a majorette in addition to playing volleyball and being an honor student at King College Prep High School.

My plea to you is you attend her funeral.

My plea is that after the funeral you address the entire nation in prime time and discuss an epidemic that's eroding our nation and destroying millions of dreams.

That is the real epidemic of violence in black communities

There is no better example than your hometown of Chicago or Chi-Raq as many locals have begun to call...
