Objection to gay marriage (as opposed to civil unions, which are already legal) is not homophobic, nor is it bigotry. The social consequences are far-reaching and worthy of consideration. Why isn't it possible to have a rational debate about it, without the name-calling and character assassination? Those are not arguments, but avoidance of the issue. Like many other self-important groups, gays want what they want when they want it, and to heck with the consequences. If someone objects, well then, they're just mean (and worse) -- end of discussion. It's childish.
Which makes one wonder how much real difference there is between the GOP (Tea Party members aside) and the Democratic Party. Is the GOP scamming the conservative public? Has it been taken over by RINOs? Is that why Romney gave up so quickly before the last votes were even counted? Is that why Boehner threw out the Tea Party members on the Budget Committee when they would not play ball and compromise? It scares me to think that the game is all but over, but it's possible we have a one-party system already and only the illusion of two remains.
Well said and tragically true.

People as individuals, one-on-one, can be kind, decent, tolerant, etc. It's "tribes" -- groups, organizations, nations -- that can be problematic. They are easily swayed and group-think is a hallmark. Think about France following WWII. America was the driving force that released that country from Nazi oppression. National gratitude lasted until De Galle came into power. You could still find kind treatment of Americans in the outlying regions of France, but in the major cities, forget it. Even so, a dear friend of mine for many years was French and from Paris. So again, individuals are fine. Groups? Not so trustworthy.

$130 million is a lot of money. If he has no fan base and no one is watching his movies, how did he accrue that wealth? And where were the big-budget movies made? Certainly not in China. Sadly, I was a fan and have enjoyed some of Chan's movies immensely. They're not all rot, as you have indicated. They're a lot of fun.
Where in the name of all that is holy was the MSM when this criminal child abuse by Kathleen Bush was revealed? Where was the outcry? Are there no mothers, fathers, or people with hearts and consciences in the MSM? That story should have been all over the news and dire warnings issued to others who would similarly exploit children. The whole twisted bent of the left is disheartening and disgusting. But sadly, child exploitation -- whether in politics or porn -- works.

Yes, and my brother's best friend stole 5 boats and broke into a bunch of businesses when he was young and stupid. My brother is a Democrat and owns a gun. So, what's your point? That someone is incapable of rational judgment about a topic because a person near and dear to him/her engaged in stupid or criminal behavior? Maybe that accounts for my brother being a Democrat. The gun thing he got right.

Try facts instead of distortions and left-leaning propaganda -- http://www.laffercenter.com/supply-side-economics/: ". . .in the roughly 30 years from the 1980s through the first decade of the new century, supply-side ideas contributed to the longest boom in United States history and an incredible transformation of the world economy. " When the Congress was overtaken by Democrats and their ideas in 2010, the economy began to tank. It tanks everywhere liberals have control. The liberals have just about sunk the once booming economy of California as well as any other state in which they have control. Now they control the federal government. Where's that socialist Utopia they .promise?
Hey, Repnextdoor! Get a life or maybe some therapy. "It's just that easy."
"Executive Oders"? Well, yeah, guess you're right. It does stink, even if you did spell it wrong (i.e., odors).

Dear Trolls: Please read "From Time Immemorial" by Joan Peters. This will answer any questions you may have and hopefully open your eyes & minds to the truth about Israel. We can argue all day long about the rightness or wrongness of carving out a Jewish homeland in the Middle East, but everything that followed has been goaded by hatred, not of Jews for others, but of others (especially Muslims) for Jews. Anti-Israel propaganda has done a stellar job of twisting the facts and minds of the rest of the world. Please at least read the book and give truth a chance.
