Americans doing, quietly, what Americans have always done around the world - helping people. Nice column.
What did you expect from a city that has been run by communists, marxists, socialists, progressives and nutcases for decades - sanity? And we thought that marxist/fascist- type authoritarianism only existed abroad. Surprise, surprise! Pogo: "We have seen the enemy and he is us"!

The EPA with Easter Egg on Its Face

This is not "irrelevant". Lisa Jackson is the protege' of avowed "socialist" former EPA Commissioner and White House environmental advisor Carol Browner. Did Jackson fool Shell Oil (assuming the scholarship is a confirmed fact) into thinking that she was a moderate, open-minded individual? If so, they got "took", big time. Anyone associated with Browner, Hansen, Chu, etc. is suspect, for many reasons and should have been deeply investigated by the FBI and Congress.

The EPA is that stupid and disingenuous. They are led by marxists and junk-science people who force their often illegal agendas and policies on those below them in the Agency. If there was ever a government agency that needed a top-to-bottom purge, the EPA is it. There are legitimate reasons to have sane, rational, and practical environmental protection laws, but the EPA is not interested in them. Believe me, I've seen this first hand.

Three Cheers For Putin

gordeon Wrote: You've got it right. The writer is on something and I'll be it isn't legal. Putin is Mr. KGB. Kill your enemies, real or imaged, level their cities (i.e. Chechnya), aid genocidal dictators (Assad, the Mad Mullahs and Achmedgenocide, the marxist wannabe emperor in Venezuela, the marxists in Nicaragua, etc). If Putin were really just for "Russia", he wouldn't have invaded Georgia and seized their territory. He wouldn't kill his opponents. He wouldn't tolerate a Moscow Mafia, led by former KGB agents, nor would he threaten all his neighbors with gas/oil cut offs, invasion, and economic warfare. I don't care who Mr. Girdusky writes for, he sounds like those who praised Hitler for his building up of Germany in the...

Marquette Debate Aborted During Late Term

Economy getting better? BS! Unemployment and underemployment are still way higher than anything under Bush. The number of people NOT seeking employment is apparently at an all-time high. The price of food is shooting thru the roof. Even cat food has risen tremendously, from $0.42 a can (Friskies) to $0.62, (varying at Target, Harris Teeter, Giant, etc). Gasoline is now in the $3.60's range in DC/Md, with some 87 Octane Unleaded at $3.98 in DC. Meat is up a lot. So is cereal. Even the price of hamburgers at carry-outs is rising. Cable TV bills are high and some rising without any worthy additions in their content (HD is being added to the programs but you have to pay for it/converter box, etc). Postage stamps - going up so high...

A very powerful column. It should be used against Obama's choice of leftwing nuts like Sebelius and Holdren, among so many others. Also, just making a list of Sanger's comments re the purpose of Planned Parenthood as she saw it, should also be circulated. Sanger sounds like Dr. Mengele in drag.
I guess you weren't in Vietnam during the war or you would know otherwise. They So. Vietnamese had a basic democratic system at the village/hamlet level in that they voted for the person who they knew could lead them. They did not trust the central government in Saigon eventhough it represented a true Mandarin system with which they were familiar. In many cases, I would say that there was more genuine democracy in voting at the village/hamlet level than there is a Chicago election. The So. Vietnamese people were a lot more loyal to the US than are the Afghani people who never knew a real country, had a fractured history, are among the most illiterate/uneducated people on earth, and who know that the Taliban will kill them if they win.

Suspicions rise in Pablo Neruda's death

Madmax2 Wrote: Jan 18, 2012 10:16 PM
Neruda was a hard core Stalinist, and quite possibly a Soviet agent of influence through one of the Soviet front operations, the World Peace Council. Dead is good. If the Pinochet revolt and regime killed 3,000 people in over 14 years of rule, mainly during the first few months, it pales in comparison to the 14,000+ people Castro, Raul and Che tortured and executed in the first year or two. Not saying that all those that Pinochet killed deserved to be killed (the reds die), but if you want to kvetch about killing people, look to Communist Cuba for a textbook case of how to wipe out real and imagined enemies in a short time.
Mitchell misses the point about nutjobs endorsing Paul or Obama. What Sam Webb said, when you read between the lines, is that the Communist can use the Democratic Party for their own aims. Obama, being a child of the Communist ideology, is someone that Webb can support, covertly, but sincerely. Believe me, reds know fellow reds. Having been among them, they definitely know each other, even if it is by oblique relationships. Obama's ties to the CPUSA go back literally to his birth, family, & Chicago life (Young, Canter, Davis, Rose, Wolf, and perhaps Axelrod). Throw in Bill Ayes and his wife, and youhave the New Left on Stereoids and explosives. Ron Paul is a nut, but he is going nowhere. Obama IS THERE and is wrecking America.
