Senate? Congress? We the people haven't had either of these in a long time. What we DO have, is a den of lawyers and thieves who jokingly refer to themselves as our Congress. Unless you've been asleep for the last 50 years, you must see that the only people career politicians care about are themselves first, their big donors secondly, and ALL us good folk, around reelection time. Congress, especially OUR House of Representatives was never intended to be a career, and certainly wasn't intended to be filled with lawyers. This is why we get 3000+ page bills that even they, who wrote them, cannot understand or explain the entire thing.

On last night’s episode of the Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert made a plea to the Governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, to be considered for the newly opened Senate seat. After Senator Jim DeMint announced earlier this week he will be leaving his seat, Stephen Colbert took it upon himself to find the perfect replacement. He suggested himself!

The comedian said, “Let’s see, you want somebody young, somebody conservative, somebody who’s from South Carolina, maybe somebody who had a super PAC,” pointing at himself. He called on his audience to tweet at Nikki Haley to encourage “Appoint Colbert”.
