Sad but true. She will either get her supreme court nomination (which I think was the price Bill exacted for campaigning for Obama)....or be running for president in 2016. The latter would be entertaining...because apparently Joe Biden thinks he'll be a contender. I'd love to see dems squaring off in a primary! I'm assuming that whichever one agrees to put Michelle on the ticket will get barack as campaigner in chief for their cause.

It's not that they want to, or that he's "next in line", it's that, for better or worse, as sitting vice president, he represents the Obama administration. They can't publically reject it, at least until he is defeated in the primary.

They're not adherents to tradition like republicans (where next in line usually gets the nod, as opposed to some glittery bozo who's done zip).

That said, you're probably right. Personally, I think Hillary wants a SCOTUS nomination instead, and that's probably what barack promised Bill for his campaign "contributions (which included lying and stumping for his re-election).
