Because CRU was illegally dodging FOIA requests because it knew its fraud would be exposed. Those emails were written among the people engaged in a massive fraud stealing public money to assist in perpetrating even more fraud. I think that's more of "whistle blower" situation. What's funny is what was released from Heartland did it no real damage because some of it was exposed as fraudulent and the rest merely showed the method by which they planned to address a situation.
