In Ranger and Special Forces units I served in we often deployed by airborne insertion (parachute) with over 100 pounds of equipment and our weapons. I have never met (and frankly would not want to meet) a woman who can carry that load while taking the punishment. This is social experimentation.
And standards are not decreased (they will be).
I agree that in strategic missiles, pilots, and such that, yes women can do it. It is not a function of intellectual ability. Infantry soldiers are specifically trained to kill. I have commanded numerous combat units and know this. I need a human being who can lift great weight, endure punishing environments, kill an opponent on command or on their own - sometimes with their bare hands. I need a person who can lift and carry to safety 95% of the people in the unit when they are wounded. I need a person who will not be a romantic distraction. I need a person who cannot get pregnant and therefore be sent home. We need men in infantry units. Men bond well with each other, they are the perfect gender for warfare as history has taught us.
This is social experimentation at its worst. While I agree that a very few women (atypical to be sure) possess the strength and emotional toughness to serve in Infantry units, we should not wholesale allow women to serve in those units. Make no mistake, war is fluid and "front lines" do not exist in non-linear conflicts, but there is a distinct difference in the mission of various units. A logistics unit's job is to repair of deliver stuff. Signal units establish and maintain communications and so on. Here is the difference, Combat support and Combat service support units defend themselves using combat skills when necessary. Combat units hunt down and kill, often eye-to-eye, our nation's enemies. We should not make women into killers.
