You have incorrectly attached Sotomayor’s response to a different question that Coburn asked. (Transcript below). Her response was to the question of personal self-defense and Sotomayor is correct. A few states, such as Florida, have statutes commonly known as the Castle Doctrine which expressly address personal self-defense. This would commonly be a states issue and not a federal issue.
COBURN: Thank you. Let me follow up with one other question. As a citizen of this country, do you believe innately in my ability to have self-defense of myself -- personal self-defense? Do I have a right to personal self- defense?
SOTOMAYOR: I'm trying to think if I remember a case where the Supreme Court has addressed that...

RINO Coleman requested more earmarks than any other member of the Minnesota delegation, supported SCHIP, climate change legislation, fuel efficiency legislation, immigration reform and opposed drilling in ANWR.
All that stated, he had a 9 point lead in the polls until that fateful day in October when he voted for TARP (the bank bailout). By Election Day, Obama had Minnesota locked up, so fiscal conservatives could stay home or vote McCain and the Independence Party candidate who ran on fiscal issues.
