Note...for five years...in a booming economy...which we had from 2001 to 2006...this guy couldn't find work? He sat around unemployed for five years? Something's so ridiculous about this. And dying of cancer in two weeks? That's a nasty form of cancer. What kind? A kind that responds to treatment no matter how early you catch it? Was there ....................... oh forget it.

When something like this happens I always wonder why. This didn't use to happen, did it? What changed? I think of all the usual 'suspects'. Violent video games. Over prescribed childhood ADHD drugs. Absentee parents. Are any of those things the culprit? What has created this rare but deadly new type of human being who glories in rampages? I remember in a few angst filled moments in high school thinking, "If I died everyone would be sorry." It was never serious but that sort of thought floats through a kids head sometimes. The NEXT thought that always came to me was a notion I'd picked up somewhere that if I killed myself I'd go to hell. I think we've lost our religious. There have always been unbelievers but not like now.

Why does this heat feel like the wrath of God? Punishment for a government who is trying to take our God given freedom.

How weird that now, those medigap insurance policies for seniors--who are supposedly receiving 'free' health care...costs MORE than their insurance used to.

I think there should be a five year limit for teachers. But five years in so many of them are so burned out and cynical they're useless. It would be a favor to them and the children if they just got booted out automatically. Yeah, there are good ones. So let those good teachers go do good work in some other industry.
