I can see some backroom deals being made,and the Repubs caving in like they've done for everything else.
As Derek says,the DemocRATS are very strategic,clever and manipulative,and they DO have the media on their side.

Don't bet on it. Remember November, 2012 - Conservatives were so confident that we had it sewn up! Even the new members of Congress lost to liars like Elizabeth Warren, and the media drummed a lot of good candidates out of the way including Atkins in Kansas! There are enough "moderate" GOP members that are too yellow-bellied to stand up for the Constitution and I wouldn't put anything pass this administration. We all need to hold our local, state & federal representatives feet to the coals. We need to make sure that our voices are heard in Washington and at every townhall meeting across the country. We need to hold them all accountable to WE THE PEOPLE not the people to them.

You have to give progressives credit. They’re nothing if not thorough. When an opportunity to limit the Second Amendment presented itself in the Sandy Hook massacre, regardless how tasteless it was to exploit that opportunity, they went full bore toward their goal.
